A salesman’s day: attendance with GPS, outlet visits and order booking

  1. Check in (attendance)

Starts the day and the route recording. If you turn it on, the salesperson also photographs the odometer and types the reading. Nothing else in the app works until they have checked in.

  2. Visit outlets on their routes

The app lists the outlets on their own routes, nearest first, with the address, the last order and a contact.

  3. Book an order (a “demand”)

Order on the shop’s behalf from your catalogue and rates, in the product’s own unit, such as “12.5 L”. The demand goes to the office for approval, and the salesperson is told when it is approved or rejected.

  4. Log an outlet visit

A visit without an order: photo, voice note, remark or a file, with the GPS position recorded. Each capture can be previewed or played back before saving.

  5. Add a new outlet

Shop name, contact and photo; the address fills in from GPS. Once the office approves it, the shop gets its own Retailer App login and a WhatsApp welcome, and can start ordering.

  6. Check out

Ends the day, with the odometer again if you require it. Tracking stops.

How do I track my salesmen’s location?

Give each salesperson the Bagdor Sales app on an Android phone or iPhone. When they check in, the app starts recording their route; the office sees everyone on a live map, updated as each position arrives, with battery and GPS status, the shops visited and the orders booked. At check-out, tracking stops. Under Field team → Tracking in the Distributor Panel there are seven views of your team. Pick one to see it.

  • Distances count only good GPS readings and ignore jumps and phone glitches.
  • A stop is 10 minutes within about 50–75 m, marked at an outlet or elsewhere.
  • Gaps in the signal are drawn along the road, not as a straight line.
  • A confidence score shows how much of the day was actually tracked.

Privacy and trust

Tracking your team, fairly

Bagdor Sales follows the salesperson’s working day and nothing more. Your team knows when it is on, and their data stays theirs and yours.

  • Tracking runs only on duty

From check-in to check-out. Not before, not after and not on days off. At check-out the server tells the phone to stop.

  • Each person gives the permissions

The salesperson sees the Google Play location notice and turns on each permission themselves before their first check-in.

  • Each salesperson sees only their own

Their own routes, shops, demands and data. Never a colleague’s.

  • Your data stays in your workspace

Each distributor’s data is kept separate from every other distributor’s.

  • Location has its own key

Positions are sent with a separate key for each day, not the login, so a stolen login cannot send or read positions.

Why FMCG and dairy distributors use Bagdor Sales

Bagdor Sales is the FMCG field force app inside Bagdor’s FMCG distributor software and dairy distributor software. Salespeople’s demands go straight into the same order list as WhatsApp and Retailer App orders, so it works as a distributor sales app, not a separate tracker. See how a distributor’s day runs on Bagdor.

No more “where are you?” calls

The map answers it

  • See who is out, where they are and which shops they have covered, without picking up the phone

Proof of every visit

GPS position, time, photos and voice notes for every shop visit, so a visit that happened can be shown.

Orders straight into the system

Demands land in your order list at the right rates

  • No re-typing from WhatsApp messages or a paper diary

Fair travel allowance

Paid on tracked GPS km or odometer km, at one rate for the team or a rate per person, and worked out for you.

A bigger shop base

New outlets added from the field become ordering customers, on the Retailer App and WhatsApp, once you approve them.

Attendance without registers

Check-in and check-out are the attendance

  • A month grid shows every salesperson, every day, with hours

Field sales app questions distributors ask

Can I see where my salespeople are?

Yes. Your salespeople use the Bagdor Sales app on Android or iPhone. From check-in to check-out the office sees each of them live on the map, with the shops they visited, the demands they took, the kilometres they travelled and their attendance. Tracking stops at check-out.

Which app should a distributor use for field sales in India?

Use one that is joined to your orders, not a separate tracker. Bagdor Sales is a field sales app for Android and iPhone by Bagdor, distributor management software from Lucknow: salespeople check in, visit outlets and book orders at your rates, and the office sees them live on the map with attendance and kilometres.

Is Bagdor Sales an order booking app for salesmen?

Yes. Salespeople book orders in the shop, called “demands”, from your catalogue at your rates, in the product’s own unit (litres, kilos or pieces). Each demand goes to the office for approval like any other order, and the salesperson is told when it is approved or rejected.

How is travel allowance calculated from GPS km?

Travel allowance is kilometres × rate. In the Activity report you choose GPS km or odometer km, and one rate for the whole team or a rate per person; Bagdor works out each salesperson’s allowance daily or monthly and exports it to Excel. GPS km count only good readings and ignore jumps.

Is the salesperson tracked all the time?

No. Tracking runs only on duty, from check-in to check-out. Not before, not after and not on days off. Each salesperson sees the Google Play location notice and gives the permissions themselves before their first check-in.

Does tracking drain the battery?

Tracking runs only between check-in and check-out, using the phone’s own battery-friendly location service. The office sees each phone’s battery level, so a dying phone is spotted early.

What if the salesperson’s phone has no internet?

Location readings are stored on the phone and uploaded when the connection returns, so the day’s route is not lost. Taking demands, saving visits and adding outlets need a connection.

Can a salesperson see other people’s shops?

No. Each salesperson sees only the outlets on the routes assigned to them, and only their own demands and data.

Is the odometer photo required?

Only if you turn it on. Then the salesperson photographs the odometer and types the reading at check-in and check-out, and the activity report shows odometer km beside GPS km.

Which phones does Bagdor Sales work on?

Android phones and iPhones. Bagdor Sales is on Google Play and the App Store.
